Battery energy storage systems (BESS) are critical in the transition to renewable energy at all levels in the power system and can be used to maximise your investment in renewable energy generation or provide network support in time of high demand. Well-designed BESS units can unlock the full potential of renewable energy by intelligently storing and discharging power when it is needed.
Our team can develop, design, optimise and assist in the installation of your BESS unit. The BESS units have many functions including:
-
Community Support by providing equity to renewable energy to everyone
-
Electricity Network Support to manage peak demands
-
Behind the meter installations for self-consumption of renewable energy
-
Microgrids and off-grid stand-alone power systems
-
Participate in energy arbitrage and FCAS markets to generate revenue
Battery Energy Storage Systems
Community Batteries
Community batteries capture the excess power generated from residential PV systems, store it, and discharge the power into the network during peak demand periods. They can also provide equity to community members without access to their own PV systems so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of renewable energy.
Network Batteries
Batteries connected to the electricity distribution network provide support to the network operator by storing energy during times of over generation and discharging energy during times of peak demand. This can defer or avoid costly infrastructure upgrades.
Commercial & Industrial Energy Storage
The majority of warehouse developments are ideal for the installation of large PV systems >100kW, that can be used for self-consumption or exported to the electricity distribution network. The use of batteries can maximise your investment in PV by storing and using energy when it suits you for the most economical outcome.
EV Charging Support
The cost of upgrading electrical infrastructure for EV charging can be expensive and uneconomical. A battery can be used to supply energy for EV charging for a brief period to complement the existing power supply and defer or avoid expensive network upgrades.
Microgrids are a self-sufficient power source that can be islanded or connected to an existing electricity network using renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, battery and others. Microgrids vary in size from 10kW up to 5MW to supply communities or industrial/commercial applications.
Our team can optimise and design your microgrid to suit your specific requirements, from remote power supplies to on-site grid connected units.
